You really don't need either one, regardless of what the directions say. Just replace the headpipe/muffler gasket with a new one and it will seal just fine. The saints at your local Suzuki dealer (assuming you are in the US) will be happy to supply you with one for around $22. If you use silicon sealer you better be REAL happy with the way you installed that muffler, because you won't be removing it real soon.
